وذكرت الوكالة التي تتخذ مركزا لها في باريس أنه “من المتوقع أن يزداد الطلب العالمي على النفط بـ2.2 مليون برميل في اليوم” بالمقارنة مع العام 2022 “ليصل إلى 102.2 مليون برميل في اليوم في 2023، على أن تمثل الصين أكثر من 70% من الزيادة”.
وتوقعت أن “يتباطأ النمو بمقدار مليون برميل في اليوم عام 2024″، علما أن الوكالة كانت تتوقع في فبراير/شباط بلوغ الطلب 101.9 مليون برميل في اليوم في 2023، ما يمثل بالأساس مستوى قياسيا.
وقالت الوكالة إن من المتوقع أن يتباطأ نمو الطلب على النفط إلى مليون برميل يوميا في عام 2024، بانخفاض 150 ألف برميل يوميا عن توقعاتها السابقة.
وأضافت “توقعات الاقتصاد العالمي ما زالت تنطوي على تحديات في مواجهة ارتفاع أسعار الفائدة وتقليص الائتمان المصرفي، الأمر الذي يضغط على الشركات التي تتعامل بالفعل مع تباطؤ الصناعات التحويلية والتجارة”.
وعززت قلة الإمدادات ارتفاع أسعار النفط، إذ تجاوز خام برنت 88 دولارا للبرميل أمس الخميس وهو أعلى مستوياته منذ يناير/كانون الثاني. وحذرت وكالة الطاقة الدولية من أن المخزونات العالمية قد تنخفض بشدة خلال الفترة الباقية من العام الحالي، وهو ما يحتمل أن يدفع الأسعار لمزيد من الارتفاع.
